BIOGRAPHY

Jeff Woods is a powerhouse indie blues-soul singer & songwriter in Nashville, TN. He is heavily influenced by the rich sounds of Muscle Shoals, Motown, Memphis, New Orleans, Chicago, Nashville, and his home roots of Bristol, TN. His vocal pedigree is carved out of soul, rock, funk, blues, roots gospel-americana. His pallet of loving such a various group of artists has shaped his talent to make him versatile enough to sing on any stage anywhere.

Jeff was born & raised into a musical family in East Tennessee that has performed on the Grand Ole Opry stage. After attending college at MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN, he would go on to record with some well known musicians on his 1st album “Roots & Redemption”.

In 2018 Jeff released his 2nd album "The Count". A concept album to represent his love of retro 70's soul mixed with modern undertones of the blues. The Nashville Scene Magazine declared this album one of the best soul-blues albums released in Nashville for 2018.

After the pandemic, Jeff released his single "Best Summer". His intent was to keep it light and easy. It landed on several Spotify Playlists & Independent Radio Stations throughout 2021. It's been regarded as an official song of the summer. In 2023, brought the release of a mixtape EP called "Weightless Weekends". This EP shows Jeff's versatility as a songwriter and as artist. Jeff loves all types of music & you can hear some of his early 80's influences closer in this project. The lead single "Weightless" shows a diversity of powerful songwriting and modern soul vibes. Jeff is currently writing and working on a new Blues-Soul Americana album!

The “Jeff Woods Band” has been a staple in the Nashville music scene for a long time. Playing a ton of the hottest clubs & venues in Middle Tennessee. Their live show is one you don’t want to miss! His band is comprised of amazing musicianship and powerful vocals that take artistic liberties on the arrangements of the songs they cover. You will hear Jeff’s originals & plenty of great covers that pay tribute to the artists that have influenced them. Jeff has opened up for legends like: Steve Cropper, Kansas, Joe Bonamassa, KC-i & Jojo, co-headlined a show with country singer John Berry, and several others over the years.

His unique voice & style draws from a wide range of influences like:

Stevie Wonder, Marc Broussard, Jonny Lang, Chris Stapleton, Allen Stone, Gavin DeGraw, Amos Lee, John Mayer, Alabama Shakes, Jason Isabell, War & Treaty, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Santana, Al Green, Bill Withers, Keb’ Mo’, The Staple Singers, The Black Crowes, The Doobie Brothers, and The Rolling Stones.
